Ah, May is here - the gateway to summer! With happenings-a-plenty in and around Norwich this Spring, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the increasing temperature and longer days.
The 2nd May sees the start of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. An annual celebration of the arts in all their forms, held at sites across the city, when else can you experience a ‘Baby Rave’ (17th May at St Andrew’s Hall), complete with a DJ and pram parking? With a host of free events (as well as ticketed ones) across Norwich and the wider County, it’s a great opportunity to experience a venue you’ve never been to before while grabbing an extra injection of culture.
As the Norfolk and Norwich Festival closes on May 17th, we see this years Open Studios event get underway, enabling the public to get ‘up close and personal’ with some of our most inspiring artistic talent. With over 250 participants, this is an ideal opportunity to find out what motivates some of Norfolk’s artists to do what they do and a great excuse to pick up some unique local art for your own ‘home gallery’.
Here on EnjoyNorwich.com, we’ve got some great ideas for May jaunts - we take a closer look at a fabulous Elemis anti-ageing treatment available at Ritual Day Spa (ideal for pre-wedding beautification), the long-established hidden gem that is Eaton Golf Club (May is a fabulous month for some outdoor activity in the form of golf) and the rather wonderful 1 Up Restaurant. We’re also giving away a meal for two at award-winning eatery Brasteds.
The end of May sees a charity Masquerade Ball at St Andrew’s Hall, hosted by the Maddermarket Theatre. At just £30 a ticket, including wine and food, this is surely a Norwich event not to be missed? You may even find yourself seated at the EnjoyNorwich.com table!
Lots of ideas for things to do this month!
Have a great time,
The EnjoyNorwich.com Team
