As many of you will already know, The East Anglian Game & Country Fair is an annual two day, family event held at the Norfolk Showground, Norwich. This year’s show will be held on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th April 2011 (the weekend before Easter).

Not simply an affair for folk of  a rural persuasion, this is a great day out (usually accompanied by lovely weather) for anyone who likes sports and outdoor activities and animals (especially horses and dogs).

Each year, the show welcomes world class events and attractions, including 6 times FITASC Sporting World Champion, European Champion and English Open Champion John Bidwell, who will be performing his off the hip shooting demonstration and new for 2011 Savage Skills the UK’s leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team perform their interactive and jaw dropping ‘Ultimate Air Show’ display. They will also be running an experience area where visitors can ‘have a go’ on bikes suitable for all ages.

On the ‘wild side’, world famous horse behaviourist Richard Maxwell will be demonstrating with some of his own horses and ponies with his 11-year old son William as well as working on a few problematic horses brought to the show by members of the public. Richard mixes both traditional and alternative methods of horsemanship inspired by Monty Roberts who he spent time with in the Household Cavalry, to tackle the horse’s issues and strengthen the bond between owner and horse.

Other attractions include ‘Dock Dogs’ (where dogs of all shapes and sizes leap into a large pool of water and see who gets the record jump), Sheep Dog & Duck Displays, the ‘Dog & Ferret’ arena, the hilarious Sheep Show and fishing demonstrations.
