One of our favourite stores from North/West Norfolk, Norfolk Home & Garden is in residence in the Castle Mall, Norwich city centre from now until December 2nd.

Norfolk Home & Garden at Norwich Castle Mall.

Norfolk Home & Garden has been carefully sourcing distinctive decorations for the home and garden since 2008. A business run by family and friends, Norfolk Home & Garden is passionate about quality and being able to offer accessories and gifts that are ‘just that little bit different’. Some items are locally made, while others come from as far a field as Indonesia, where they are Fair Trade, being bought directly from the woodcarvers themselves. Around 90% of what you’ll find on offer is hand crafted, making for a really unique gift or talking point for your home or living space.

Wood, and natural materials feature quite heavily on the ranges stocked at Norfolk Home & Garden. The fabulous ‘Driftwood’ collection (as featured on TVs ’60 Minute Makeover’) comprises one-off pieces such as mirrors, clocks and candleholders that are, as the name suggests, formed from genuine driftwood washed up on the North Norfolk Coast.

Perfect for picking out something beautiful and special to give as a Christmas gift, Norfolk Home & Garden in the Castle Mall is well worth a visit.

Frontage of Philip Browne in Norwich.

It has been a busy and exciting year for Norwich’s independent Gents style boutique, Philip Browne.

Blazing the trails of fashion since they opened in 1986, 2011 saw Philip Browne receive a runners-up award for being shortlisted in the final 3 in the ‘Best Men’s Fashion’ category, The Telegraph Best Small Shops in Britain Awards 2011. This past few weeks, Philip Browne has been busy relocating to a new position on Guildhall Hill in Norwich city centre. Just two doors along, the new corner-site enables a spacious open-plan layout, as well as a large basement dressing room. There are plans to open up the top floor as well.

Stocking some bold and fabulous labels, one of our favorite lines at the moment has to be the Barbour Steve McQueen™ collection.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the “International” motorcycle clothing range, Barbour launched a limited edition Barbour Steve McQueen™ capsule collection that pays homage to one of the most famous wearers of the International jacket.

Steve McQueen racing in Barbour.

Steve McQueen lived and raced in his Barbour, most notably when he represented the United States team in the 1964 International Six Day Trials (ISDT) in East Germany. The ISDT is one of the most challenging racing events in the world with each rider covering 200 miles a day over various types of terrain. Recognising the jacket as the best defence against the European weather, the US team stopped off in London to buy their Barbour Internationals. The uncomplicated way the jacket design coped with rain and mud made it the perfect choice, while the ergonomic design of the cargo pockets was ideal for storage.

The Barbour Steve McQueen™ collection features a selection of unique jackets, shirts, tees and knitwear inspired by photos of Steve McQueen racing on his motorbike and relaxing at leisure, taken from the archives. The jackets in particular are real investment pieces that, like their inspirational namesake, will deliver timeless, effortless style for years to come.

Items from the Barbour Steve McQueen™ collection range from £35 for a T-shirt to £699 for the Enduro leather jacket. The collection is available at Philip Browne now.
