Following the success of the 2010 Sculpture trail which saw Cromer, Sheringham and other parts of the North Norfolk coast festooned with three and six foot crabs and lobsters which captivated the imagination of both young and old alike. The Crab and Lobster festival for 2011 has come up with the wacky ‘deckchair arts trail’ for this year’s theme.
Jane Wisson of North Norfolk District Council says “we were aiming to match our target from last year with the crabs and lobsters of 82 sculptures and to date we have already achieved this and are well on our way to our first 100. The chairs can be printed, painted or in one case we even have someone weaving the canvass. The chair must have a crab and lobster somewhere included in the design.
The deckchairs will be returned to us, for the auction, to take place on the bank holiday weekend at the end of August. We have selected RNLI Sheringham and Cromer along with the Fisherman’s Mission as our charities for this year”.
With the deckchairs being snapped up you will only have till the 14th February to order one. Order yours now and join in the fun – we’re thinking a seriously novel Valentines gift for someone who loves Norfolk?
