Aspects of Holt.

Aspects of Holt.

Expect a buzz around Holt throughout the week of Sunday 25th – Saturday 31st July as the 2010 Holt Summer Festival kicks off with a host of fantastic events across this lovely Georgian Market Town. An eclectic programme of theatre, dance, music, literature, cinema and comedy means that there will be something to appeal to all tastes and ages. Plenty of free and children’s events as well will have Holt showing that it is just as capable of putting on a show as its nearby City-of-Culture-2013 candidate Norwich.

One particular highlight is the Holt Summer Festival Art Trail. Encouraging you to discover the fabulous range of fine art in Holt, several Holt galleries are holding special exhibitions and will be staying open later on Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th July.

One such gallery is The Hatfield Hines Gallery, which will be running an exhibition of work by Naomi Munuo. Clare Hatfield who runs the gallery says “The exhibition highlights the vibrant life studies and surreal still lifes of Central St. Martin’s and Goldsmith’s-trained Munuo, whose works have featured at The Royal Academy and Art Fusion-Miami. Ipwsich-based Munuo is inspired by the human figure, illustrating it using richly textured, irregular shapes in works which often involve layered collage techniques. We’re hoping that these fantastic, contemporary works will tempt people to visit”.
