Eat

The very best Norwich Restaurants.

The Parson Woodforde

The restaurant is large and family-friendly, styled in a blend of the traditional and contemporary, with wooden beams and flooring alongside glitzy light fittings and purple tones. Chef Nick Hare has devised a superb set of menus, including a Bar Menu of lighter bites, which include fresh ingredients almost exclusively sourced from within Norfolk. Continue reading

Stower Grange Hotel

Found on the outskirts of Norwich, Stower Grange is an impressive and beautiful place to eat for those looking for a friendly, peaceful environment that is far from the madding crowd. Continue reading

ASK Italian Norwich

Inside, ASK is bright with a non-conventional style that can only be defined as contemporary-retro. Modern lines are influenced everywhere by 50s and 60s shapes and colours. Apparently the look takes its inspiration straight from the Italian city of Milan, being shocking (in a good way) and trend setting. Pieces inside were commissioned solely for ASK (the Manager tells us that the pattern on the restaurant ceiling is inspired by the ceiling in Norwich Cathedral). Continue reading

Pinocchio’s Restaurant

Expertly run by Jayne and Nigel Raffles, who also own renowned Norwich restaurants The Library, Pulse and St Benedict’s Restaurant, Pinocchio’s is a Norwich institution with the feel of a stylish Mediterranean brasserie. Decor inside includes a large mahogany bar and wall long Picasso-inspired mural, and the restaurant thrives to the sound of live music twice a week. Continue reading

Pedro’s Mexican Cantina

Pedro's Mexican Cantina is a real Norwich institution, having existed in its location in Chapelfield Gardens for some twenty years. Inside, the music and decor help to evoke an authentic Mexican atmosphere that is relaxed and festive, making it the perfect place to eat for the young at heart from families to groups and parties (don't forget to ask the friendly staff for a sombrero). Continue reading

Mambo Jambo

Predominantly a Mexican-style restaurant, Mambo Jambo also offers a variety of non-Mexican dishes, from steaks and burgers to healthier options such as jacket potatoes and salads. Vegetarians will be spoilt for choice. There is a 'Junior' menu for the under-12's and kids eat free between 4pm and 6pm Sun-Fri (one child per Adult). Mambo Jambo's well-stocked bar serves a wide range of beers, wines and spirits. Continue reading

Bar Tapas

Bar Tapas, found upstairs above Brambles in the City Centre, celebrates the philosophy and spirit of Spain and South America and specialises in a wide range of delicious tapas dishes. Notable highlights are the Beer battered Jalapenos Mozzarella fingers. The omelette dishes are very popular. Bar Tapas is also one of a very few venues in Norwich to serve the refreshing Desperados tequila-flavoured beer. Continue reading

11 | Bar & Kitchen

In addition to a seasonal menu, which features lots of lovely local produce in creative dishes bursting with flavour, there is a regularly changing Specials Board. For us, the ‘Afters’ are standout, with delights such as Chocolate Orange ‘Jammie Dodger’ and Ginger Beer Syrup Cake with Lager & Lime Sorbet. Yum. Continue reading

Run by a team whose experience includes 7 years at The Savoy and the RAC Club (one of London’s finest private member’s clubs), you might be expecting something pretty special from Bishop’s. You won’t be disappointed. Continue reading

Pulse Café Bar

Housed in a fabulous open plan setting in the Old Fire Station stables, Pulse is a vegetarian restaurant with its philosophy planted firmly in the 21st century. While the emphasis is on healthy veggie cuisine – and it is great to be able to choose anything from the menu if you are a non-meat eater – this restaurant is for everybody, whether you choose to avoid meat or not. Continue reading
