Spacious and friendly with a reassuring traditional feel, The Cellar House, just on the outskirts of the City Centre, is an ideal location for a weekday lunch, a family sit-down on a Sunday or a hearty evening meal.
The kitchen is in the experienced hands of Head Chef Julian Reynolds who has designed a classic menu that offers excellent value, using tons of wholesome local ingredients. Harveys Pure Meat Sausages, Adnams Beer Battered Local Catch of the Day, locally made ice cream and locally-produced cheeses all feature on a regular basis.
There are lighter-bites and sharing platters for lunch and options for vegetarians and children.
On weekends, you can treat yourself to a cooked breakfast.
On Sunday’s, The Cellar House does a mean Roast with all the trimmings (we’ve enjoyed it several times and can wholeheartedly recommend).
A private dining room is available for hire for functions and large groups, and there is a large beer garden for al fresco dining on warmer days.
Free parking immediately outside.
Proud to support the local community, The Cellar House took in the village Post Office in 2016, saving it from closure. You can now post your parcel from the end of the bar and then enjoy a coffee or a pint!
