Run by a team whose experience includes 7 years at The Savoy and the RAC Club (one of London’s finest private member’s clubs), you might be expecting something pretty special from Bishop’s. You won’t be disappointed.

 

Tucked away down St Andrew’s Hill, the interior is intimate and boudoir-esque, with plenty of sparkling reflective surfaces, crisp white table linen and chair covers. Despite this ‘very special vibe’, this is not a pretentious or intimidating establishment. On the contrary, it is extremely welcoming and relaxed, but simply of a very, very high quality on all fronts.

 

Bishop’s describes their menu as ‘Modern British’, and the majority of the ingredients sourced locally. Like the atmosphere, the food is modest – simply good, honest, home cooked food prepared and presented with subtle class.

 

An extensive wine list and separate wine bar make Bishop’s ideal for a post-work aperitif.

 

Co-Owner Alex Tranquillo’s aim is to recreate the high quality home-from-home ‘old London style’ that he has been a part of in previous roles. We’d say he’s pretty much there.

 

Bishop’s is open for lunch & dinner: Tuesday to Saturday 12-2.30pm & 6-9.45pm.
Wine bar open from 5pm.

 

Ideal for parties, Bishop’s is also available for private hire.
