What can we say… having spent most Friday nights within the hallowed walls of the Garden House between ’93 and ’95 (after seeing in our 18th birthday in their very conservatory of course), we have a special place in our heart for this fantastic Norwich pub.

 

In the heart of the Golden Triangle it bears all the hallmarks of a traditional pub, while being smart with more than a dash of bohemia. It has always had a natural air of ‘cool’ about it, without being pretentious or having to try to hard, and is ideal for the young at heart.

 

Throughout the day, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful – ideal for a working lunch or catching up with friends over coffee. The Garden House serves excellent homecooked food throughout the day at very reasonable prices. On Sunday, enjoy a delicious Roast with all the extras for a mere £7.50 (veggie option available). Wash it all down with a great selection of wines and ales.

 

At night, The Garden House comes alive and many is the time when I have entered to ‘standing room only’ (get there early to get a table!). The huge beer garden (one of the largest in the Golden Triangle) buzzes in the summer with guests of all ages.

 

Within walking distance of the delights of the City Centre, The Garden House is the perfect place to dine pre-Theatre (or before going out for a ‘night on the tiles’), or if you’re simply looking for somewhere with a real personality to take a long, lovely lunch.

 

Monday Night is Quiz Night. 8.30pm upstairs.

 

On Tuesday Nights, The Garden House puts a variety of traditional dishes up for public vote (on FaceBook etc.). Winner is served that night for only £6.

 

Function room (recently refurbished) available for private parties and events. It is free to hire for conferences/business functions. For private celebrations and parties there is a £50 deposit to pay, which is refunded if your guests’ total spend throughout the event exceeds £150.
