Found right in the City Centre, the West Cornwall Pasty Co. is probably known first and foremost for its hearty handmade pasties (handmade in Cornwall and baked throughout the day in the shop from traditional recipes). The range includes favourites such as the Traditional Steak Pasty, but there are also more unusual varieties including Salmon, Steak & St Austell’s Ale, Chicken Balti and Lamb & Mint. There are also several options for vegetarians.
As well as pasties, you’ll find Fair-trade tea and coffee, traditional Cream Tea, potato wedges, pizza and a mean line in cakes and pastries.
If you want to take a load off, the West Cornwall Pasty Co. has a rustic seating area upstairs that is reminiscent of a coastal inn-cum-surf-shack and just as relaxing.
If you’re on the move, the West Cornwall Pasty Co. is perfect – grab a piping hot pasty to take away. For breakfast, grab a freshly made Bacon Roll before 11am.
Children are well served with a Kids Pirate Booty Box, which, along with a decent child-sized meal, includes an eye patch, pirate hat, crayons, and treasure map.
