Going strong and hugely popular since it’s establishment in 1978, The Waffle House offers a deliciously different dining experience if you are looking for new ideas for lunch, an evening out or a place to meet for business or pleasure.
On two levels, in intimate and comfortable surroundings with air conditioning for the warmer months, The Waffle House specialises in absolutely delicious sweet and savoury Belgian waffles. The emphasis is on local, wholesome, organic and free-range ingredients where possible and equal importance is put on Vegetarian Food in their menu. Probably the only dilemma is deciding whether to have a savoury or a sweet waffle as attempting both can be a challenge for all but the hungriest diner – especially if you opt for the large sizes! However, with delights such as Cheese Sauce & Mushrooms (highly recommended) and The Banoffee Waffle, plus delicious daily specials, breakfast (until 12noon), salads and freshly made milk shakes (not just for kids), we’d recommend you leave plenty of room. A good selection of wines, beers and illy coffees are available to accompany your meal (as, of course, is the essential flagon of Maple Syrup on each table).
The prices are reasonable – a small savoury waffle is about £5-6 (£6-7 for the large size) and a small sweet waffle is around £3-4 (around £4.50 for the larger size). Families are welcome (in fact it’s a great place to take the Kids – there is a special children’s menu and 30% off main menu items for children when accompanied by an adult).
Open Mon-Sat 10am-10pm. Sun 11am-10pm. Breakfast is served daily until 12noon.
