Mackintosh’s Canteen is an eatery that offers an almost impossible-to-find combination of relaxed, accessible dining with elegant, stylish ambience and simple, tasty food that never compromises on quality despite being surprisingly good value for money.

Situated just outside the Chapelfield Shopping Mall, bang in the centre of Norwich, it manages to tick all the boxes, be it for lunch in the middle of a long hard day of shopping, a coffee with colleagues or friends or something more classy and formal in the evening.

Designed over two floors, downstairs offers a Café-style experience that is perfect for daytime dining (you can even get breakfast). On warmer days enjoy Alfresco dining out on the terrace. Upstairs is evocative of an elegant Brasserie - unpretentious and ideal for business lunches and dinners or romantic pre- or post-theatre dates.

As a member of the Animal Inns family of Restaurants (that also includes the much-awarded Wildebeest Arms and the 1up Restaurant), you are assured a high quality of food and service. Emphasis is on great food and a great atmosphere, leading to an all-round experience that will have you coming back for more. Locally sourced ingredients are used to create wholesome, delicious food and a well-stocked bar plus an imaginative range of soft drinks, ensure you are suitably refreshed as well as being well-fed.

Children are catered for with a fresh and well thought-out homemade Kids Menu (the burgers are a bit hit, we’re told).
