Now in its 22nd year, The Last Wine Bar and Restaurant, situated in the area known as ‘Norwich-over-the-Water’, is one of the city’s longest established eateries, and has become a genuine Norfolk institution.

The welcoming bar retains much of the Victorian character of the building – a former shoe factory (hence the name*) – and there are three distinct eating areas: the bar itself, the smart restaurant and the cosy downstairs.

The food is modern and eclectic, and you can choose from Bar and A la Carte menus, both of which are published regularly on the Last’s website.  Sample dishes from the current menu include ballontine of lamb, cumin and coriander mint yoghurt and courgette pickle; roasted breast of Norfolk pheasant, sprouting broccoli, potato fondant, crisp bacon, blackberry and cassis jus; and chocolate and praline fondant with praline foam, toffee and pecan ice-cream.

There are more than 100 carefully-chosen wines available, with many offered by the glass or carafe.  The extensive WINE LIST has a bias towards Europe and France in particular, although the New World is by no means overlooked.

Still bustling and popular after 20 years, The Last Wine Bar’s longevity is testament to its popularity.
