The Playhouse Bar

Norwich Playhouse Bar.
42-58 St George’s Street, Norwich, NR3 1AB.
Tel: 01603 766669.

The Bar at Norwich Playhouse is housed within the atmospheric 19thCentury ex-maltings that also accommodates the Playhouse, a fantastic performance space offering a regular timetable of great drama, comedy, musical theatre and dance.
Run by The Last Wine Bar (surely a mark of pedigree if ever there was one), the Playhouse Bar is a cool, intimate hangout with an urban, laid-back vibe. The Bar sells wines and spirits, local ales, fresh juices, cocktails, Fairtrade drinks and European beers. A selection of eclectic and tasty bar snacks are available, from penny sweets to pork pies.
If you’re seeing a performance at the Playhouse, you can order pre-interval drinks. If you just want to relax and enjoy a fresh, friendly environment with music and interesting choices to quench your thirst, then make yourself at home for the evening.
The Bar itself is adorned with art and opens onto a terrace (that really comes into its own on summer days and evenings) and award-wining garden.
Describing itself as hosting ‘gigs, DJ’s, art, film showings, vintage clothing sales’, the Norwich Playhouse Bar is much more than just a decent, lively watering hole (though it is very much that as well). It boasts a regular Cinema Snug, showing free film classics to a sofa-seated audience, with tea or something stronger if you prefer. The Playhouse Bar is also host to regular bands, singers and DJs. It’s a great place to discover new talents and sounds from far and wide.
Open Mon-Sat 10am – 12am, Sundays 12pm – 12am.
