Established almost 100 years ago in 1910, Eaton Golf Club is a rare and delightful component of the Norfolk golfing scene. Described previously as “a golfing oasis” and “the hidden gem”, it can be found literally just outside the City Centre, accessible via the A11 Newmarket Road. This fact is easily forgotten since the beauty and serenity of the course easily belie its situation.
A worthy challenge for golfers of all standards and abilities, the undulating parkland course measures 6118 yards (par 70) for Men and 5562 (par 72) for Ladies. Being extensively tree lined, accurate and intelligent shots are essential, particularly off the tees.
A genuine “members club” in the traditional sense (few of which still exist in the County), you are guaranteed a warm welcome at this much-loved club. Enjoy refreshment and nourishment at the clubhouse while taking in beautiful panoramic views over the 1st, 10th and 18th fairways or visit the Pro-Shop (operated by fully PGA qualified Head Professional Mark Allen, who also offers a comprehensive teaching programme for all ages and abilities) to pick up branded merchandise including clothing (Men’s and Ladies), golf balls, trolleys and ECCO shoes. The Pro-Shop specialises in Custom Fitting of golf equipment and offers a ‘try before you buy’ policy.
Eaton Golf Club also has an extensive calendar of social events (Quiz Nights, Dinners, Race Nights, BBQs), competitions and County Fixtures.
Visitors can play at Eaton Golf Club (see the Club website for latest details about ‘Green Fees’) or there are a variety of Membership packages available. Applications are welcomed from Ladies, Gentlemen and Juniors.
