Bond Cottage sits in a row of late-Victorian terraced cottages in the pretty seaside village of Overstrand that was once known as ‘Gunton Terrace’, perhaps by virtue of the fact that they were erected by Lord Suffield who built nearby Gunton Park. Lord Suffield also constructed the Manor House in Overstrand and the cottages of Gunton Terrace originally housed the maids and grooms who served said Manor House.
Now under the careful management of Black Cat Cottages, Bond Cottage is a cosy, homely setting for the ultimate escape to the Norfolk coast. Very close to the beach and amenities, such as the golf courses at Cromer and Mundesley, it provides an excellent base from which to explore the entire North Norfolk region or simply flee the City for a long weekend.
Ideal for a Family or small group, the cottage benefits from a King-Sized double room with its own en-suite and a twin room with built-in sink. Downstairs has an additional shower room and WC. The kitchen comes fully equipped and includes a dryer, washer, dishwasher, fridge, cooker, hob and microwave.
In the lounge, a multi-fuel burner is perfect for taking the edge off chillier evenings and a DVD player and TV mean you can chill out with your feet up after an active day or simply veg out if that’s the blueprint for your perfect break.
Overstrand itself was known as ‘Millionaires Village’ in Victorian times, being a fashionable playground for the rich who wanted to ‘improve their humours’. Its sandy beaches have attracted the likes of Albert Einstein and Winston Churchill.
