Walkers of Pottergate was set up in 1990 by Anne Rowe, with a plan to offer the ladies of Norfolk and Suffolk fashion that was different to that which was already available on the High Street.
Choosing Collections from European designers that were often not well known in the UK has meant that Walkers can offer a style of dressing that was exclusive to them.
As well as this individual look, Anne and her team are renowned for offering honest advice, and with many of the staff holding Fashion or Arts degrees. They have a fine tuned sense of colour, proportion and style, while exemplary service goes without saying.
A key label to Walkers for some 15 years is Rundholz. Mr Rundholz employs his experience of architecture and sculpture together with an acute sense of creativity to make the most wonderful wearable and desirable clothes.
Another cutting edge designer stocked by Walkers is Annette Gortz. The quality of her fabric is visible from some distance, and her cutting is subtle and exquisite. Her clothes make a statement that is elegant yet casual.
A further fine designer you’ll find at Walkers is Dane, Bitte Kai Rand. She has been designing intriguing casual clothes for two decades, and yet her new season collection is as fresh and relevant today as when Bitte started her career.
Two high profile designers from Croatia add further to the mix; Igor Dobranic is the costume designer for the Croatian Natonal Theatre (although of course he learned his trade at none other than Central St Martins), and Xenia Designs, who offer deconstruction (and sheer brilliance) to their collections.
This unique and inspiring mix of designers has enabled Walkers to dress ladies attending the BAFTA and OSCAR awards ceremonies.
Check out all the collections at walkersofpottergate.com, or visit the flagship city centre store in person.
