Norwich Playhouse opened in 1995 in a building that dates back over 150 years and was once a riverside maltings. Aside from this fact, the Playhouse is modern in almost every other way. An intimate, yet airy performance space with surprisingly comfortable seats and a regular timetable of great drama, comedy, musical theatre and dance make the Playhouse a venue worth checking out.

With an exciting and eclectic selection of live performers from all genres throughout the year, its City Centre location and buzzing bar, the Playhouse in Norwich is a go-to destination for music-lovers of all ages.

Summer / Autumn 2008 At Norwich Playhouse:

JACQUI McSHEE’S PENTANGLE.
Legendary group Pentangle expanded the frontiers of folk in the 1960s and 70s.  Since then, the band's evolving styles and various line-ups have continued to make groundbreaking music. NATIONAL YOUTH JAZZ ORCHESTRA.
Forget the word “youth” – this is one of the best jazz bands you will ever hear! The show will feature three young up-and-coming musicians from Norwich; Paul Gregory, Freddy Gavita and Lewis Wright. Sat 27 Sept 8pm. £17.50 or £15 concessions.

The Gentlemen of Motown at Norwich Playhouse. Celebrating Norfolk Black History Month.

THE GENTLEMEN OF MOTOWN.
