Found in the heart of Norwich, the Theatre Royal is considered by many to be East Anglia’s premier theatre. Reopened last year after a fantastic £10M refurbishment, the Theatre Royal now boasts increased foyer space, three new bars, a new restaurant, more comfortable seats with additional legroom, lift access to the Circle level and concert hall-standard acoustics.
Presenting a high quality mix of musicals, comedy, drama, dance, opera and family shows all year round, the forthcoming 2008 schedule includes the new musical adaptation of the film The Witches of Eastwick, starring Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow, Oscar-nominated actress Brenda Blethyn in Tennessee Williams's funny and moving play The Glass Menagerie, singing legend Dionne Warwick, Disney's Beauty and the Beast and, of course, East Anglia's biggest and best traditional family panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
As well as the great array of performances, the Theatre Royal also offers a range of other activates including drama education and training courses.
2008 marks the 250th anniversary of the opening of the first Theatre Royal building, making this one of the oldest continually operating theatres in the UK. You are cordially invited to come along and help celebrate!
